BROOKLYN - A man is in serious condition after his car crashed into the back of a loaded supply truck.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday on Louisiana Avenue. A witness says the victim's white Nissan Altima was following traffic around the truck when it veered to the right and hit the truck's backside.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pulled the man from the Altima.

One of the beams from inside the supply truck fell onto the man's head, causing serious trauma.

The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital. His identity was not immediately released.
