BROOKLYN - Police are looking for the gunman who fatally shot a man near a school in Brownsville.
Authorities say the 26-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene on Riverdale Avenue and Herzl Street with a gunshot wound to the neck.
It happened just steps away from P.S. 183 at around 10:30 a.m., sending the school into a lockdown.

Police have not released the victim's identity, but witnesses say his name is Robert Martin and that his distraught mother arrived at the scene a short time after the shooting.
Sources say the victim has a criminal record.
Police say no one else was hurt and the students were sent home at their regular time.
