Man suffers severe burns in Bushwick fire

BUSHWICK - Authorities say one person was hospitalized with serious injuries after an Eastern Parkway home went up in flames.

The fire broke out early Wednesday morning at 2042 Eastern Parkway, fire officials say. An elderly woman and her son were home at the time of the fire. The woman got out of the building safely, but her son suffered burns on 12 percent of his body, authorities say.

An investigation into the blaze is ongoing.
