WILLIAMSBURG - Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to rape a woman early yesterday morning in Williamsburg.

The 27-year-old victim was walking along Graham Avenue at around 4:20 a.m. on Friday when police say she was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground as she was approaching Scholes Street. The suspect allegedly banged her head and tried to rape her. Police say he fled when a witness ran over to help the victim.

Police say the suspect is a black man in his early 30s. He weighs around 170 pounds and is between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall. He's described as clean shaven with short hair.
