The man convicted of stabbing a Brooklyn grandmother to death as she tried to break up a fight has been sentenced to up to 10

BROOKLYN - The man convicted of stabbing a Brooklyn grandmother to death as she tried to break up a fight has been sentenced to up to 10 years behind bars.

Abdul Mattocks was sentenced to serve a minimum of three years and four months in prison today. He has already served one year of the minimum sentence. After this time, he will be eligible for parole.

Vickie Griffin, 43, was knifed in the chest after throwing herself in the middle of the heated fight in Brownsville, according to police.

Paramedics rushed her to Brookdale University Hospital, where she died shortly thereafter.
