BROOKLYN - Dozens of people in Fort Greene today were forced to evacuate their homes due to explosions in a manhole and a subsequent fire.

The FDNY says explosions in a manhole occurred near the corner of Myrtle and Washington avenues, which led to an electrical fire in the basement of 459 Myrtle Ave.

About 30 people on the block had to evacuate their homes from a total of seven buildings.
