Manhole fire causes Chisholm building to close for day

BROOKLYN - Officials say the Shirley Chisholm State Building will be closed this morning due to smoke damage.

Smoke and carbon monoxide from a manhole fire yesterday seeped into the building, according to fire officials.

Those who work in the building should not report on Monday, according to state officials. Anyone having an appointment at the building on Monday, should call on Tuesday to reschedule.
