BROOKYLN - Crown Heights residents were left without power Monday after a manhole burst into flames.

Officials say a manhole near the intersection of Empire Boulevard and New York Avenue caught fire just before 11 a.m. Firefighters were able to put out the flames.

According to a Con Ed outage map, nearly 50 customers lost power.

No one was injured.
