Manhole fire injures first responders

A manhole burst into flames in Bushwick, injuring first responders. It happened outside 1291 Broadway Thursday night.

BROOKLYN - A manhole burst into flames in Bushwick, injuring first responders. 

It happened outside 1291 Broadway Thursday night. 

According to authorities, one firefighter is in serious, but stable condition with a leg injury. Two other firefighters suffered minor injuries, and all three were taken to Kings County Hospital. 

Officials say manhole fires are common during the wintry weather.
