Marquis Willis killed, 2 arrested after BMW crashes into garbage truck in East Flatbush

The accident happened at Utica Avenue and Avenue D.

BROOKLYN - A 22-year-old man is dead and two drivers are in custody after a collision between a BMW and a garbage truck in East Flatbush. 

According to police, Marquis Willis was riding with two others when their car slammed into the back of the truck at Utica Avenue and Avenue D at around 1:30 a.m.  

Willis was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital where the second passenger is in critical condition. The 26-year-old driver of the BMW was taken into custody on an intoxication related charge, and is in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital. 

The driver of the privately owned sanitation truck was also taken into custody on unrelated charges. 

An investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
