BROOKLYN - A manhunt for a Brownsville robbery suspect has been called off after dozens of armed police officers swarmed the area.

According to the NYPD, officers did not find what they had been looking for and have cleared the scene.

A local politician told News 12 Brooklyn that according to his sources, the original 911 call was unfounded. Many residents in the neighborhood say it was a scary scene and are upset at the possibility that the call was phony.
