BROOKLYN - Officials say they have launched a massive manhunt for an 8-year-old boy after he disappeared after leaving a day camp yesterday evening.
Police say Leibby Kletzky left the Boyan Day Camp on 44th Street and 12th Avenue at around 5 p.m. yesterday. Surveillance footage shows the child was walking up 13th Avenue to 50th Street.
The Borough Park, Flatbush and Williamsburg Shomrims are helping the police in the search. Residents say they stepped up to help because they live in a tight-knit community.
Kletzky has brown hair and wears black glasses. He was last seen wearing a blue-and-gray-striped shirt and carrying a blue backpack.
A reward of $110,000 is being offered by community leaders and Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) for information leading to a safe return. Residents are being urged to call 718-871-6666 with any information relating to the case.
