THE BRONX - Mayor Bill de Blasio is looking back at his first few months in office as he hits a major milestone in his administration.

Today marks de Blasio's 100th day in office. The mayor spoke at Cooper Union in Manhattan today, addressing what he has done so far and what he plans to do in the future.

In his speech, de Blasio thanked the Department of Sanitation and the Department of Transportation for their work during the snow this past winter. He also thanked the FDNY for its work during the explosion in Harlem.

De Blasio mentioned that murders and pedestrian death rates are both down. He also touted two accomplishments: full-day pre-K and sick day leave for corporations with a certain number of employees.

De Blasio stated that he still plans to reduce inequality and restore opportunity. He intends to build 200,000 units of affordable housing while he is in office.

Other changes include decreasing building repair wait times. The average building repair wait time for a typical resident lasted an average of 250 days. This year, the wait time dropped to 50 days.
