NEW YORK - Mayor Bill de Blasio is warning New York City of a messy and difficult commute Wednesday.

About a quarter-inch of ice, if not more, is expected to come at the height of the morning rush.

De Blasio echoed his usual plea to drivers, telling them to leave their cars at home and use mass transit if possible.

Everyone should be extremely careful on the slick roads and sidewalks, and allow plenty of extra travel time.
