NEW YORK - Mayor Michael Bloomberg promised New Yorkers today that city workers will handle the approaching winter storm better than last week's blizzard.

Residents across all five boroughs were outraged last week after snowplows left streets covered in snow days after the blizzard dumped more than 2 feet of snow in some areas.

During a news conference today, Bloomberg said "while I realize there were problems with the city's snow cleaning last week, we want to insure all New Yorkers we're doing everything in our power to make sure we don't experience those kind of problems again, and we plan to do a great job, the kind of job the public has come to expect us to do."
