NEW YORK - Anthony Weiner has dropped in the polls again as the fallout from his latest sexting scandal continues to wreak havoc on his campaign.

The former congressman has slipped to fourth place in the Democratic race with 16 percent of surveyed voters willing to back him, according to a new poll conducted by Quinnipiac University.

The poll also shows that 53 percent of potential Democratic voters say he should drop out of the race, and 40 percent think he should stick with it.

Earlier polls had Weiner sitting in first place before he admitted to sharing more lewd online content with women after his 2011 resignation for similar behavior.

The numbers now have City Council Speaker Christine Quinn as the leader, followed by public advocate Bill de Blasio and former City Comptroller Bill Thompson.
