BROOKLYN - Mayoral candidate Joe Lhota visited East Flatbush today to call attention to a recent spike in shootings.

He says that between 1993 and 2012, the 67th Precinct saw a 72-percent reduction in crime. However, in just the last few weeks, there were eight shooting victims, five rapes and 57 robberies, according to the most recent CompStat report.

Lhota says that his challenger, Bill de Blasio, does not have the right policies to deal with crime in New York City, and adds that even though he is down in the polls, he will keep fighting until the voters decide.
