BROOKLYN - Hundreds of public housing residents gathered in East New York Thursday to demand help from elected officials and the new leader of NYCHA.
The meeting was held at Saint Paul Community Baptist Church and organized by the East Brooklyn Congregations. Newly appointed NYCHA Chairwoman Shola Olatoye was among the officials and elected leaders invited to the meeting to help deal with public housing concerns.
Residents say they've been dealing with issues related to heat, mold and leaks. They say they're hoping the new leadership addresses these problems as soon as possible.
