BROOKLYN - A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the Fourth of July shooting of a police officer in Brooklyn.

The Sun Journal reports that 21-year-old Michael Faison was arrested in Maine on Wednesday and is awaiting extradition to New York.

Officer Jamil Sarwar had been responding to reports of a shooting at the Cypress Hills Houses when he was shot in the leg. He was hospitalized and released the next day.

Two teenagers have already been charged with attempted murder in the shooting, but neither one is believed to have fired the bullet that wounded Sarwar.
