Midwood Hebrew school evacuated due to fumes

MIDWOOD - A Hebrew school in Midwood was evacuated today after gas fumes leaked into the building causing some kids to get sick.

Officials at the East Midwood Hebrew Day School on 21st Street say the fumes came from the roof where crews were conducting maintenance work.

The evacuation lasted for a short time and students were allowed back into the building.

Officials say two students were taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
