MIDWOOD - The New York City Health Department has closed down a popular pizzeria in Midwood after it failed to pass its latest inspection last week. Health officials say Di Fara Pizza, located on Avenue J, received 67 violation points. Inspectors say they found mice and flies, and that workers' personal cleanliness was inadequate. They also say they noticed the counters were not properly washed. The owners say the closure is only temporary, and that they will fight to reopen. "Thank you for all the wonderful voicemails, emails," they said in a Facebook message. "We will get through this."
