MIDWOOD - A Midwood synagogue that was destroyed by flames yesterday re-kindled this morning.

FDNY officials said crews were able to contain the fire quickly.

Authorities say that the fire was caused by a candle on the first floor and quickly spread to other parts of the building.

No one was seriously injured in the blaze, but some firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Congregants say they plan on rebuilding the house of worship.
