Missing 11-year-old Kareem Granton, of East New York, found safe in Manhattan

BROOKLYN - An 11-year-old boy from East New York who went missing was reunited with his family Monday. 

According to police, Kareem Granton was found on a southbound No. 4 train in Manhattan's Union Square at around 8 a.m. Monday.  

He had not been seen since last Wednesday afternoon after leaving a friend's apartment in the Williams Avenue NYCHA complex where they both live.

Granton says he slept on the subway every night and at one point went to Chuck E. Cheese. He was spotted Monday morning by a Good Samaritan who took a picture of the boy while he was asleep and then alerted authorities.

“I'm alright. It was a very big world, I didn't think I would make it,” said Granton. “I knew my mom was looking for me but I [didn’t] know it would turn into this big of a situation."
