Baseball fans took part in a 5K this morning hosted by Major League Baseball and the New York Road Runners to raise money for Sandy relief efforts.

Hundreds of runners participated in the 5K, held at Prospect Park. Joining Mr. Met and other team mascots was former New York Mets pitcher and Brooklyn native, John Franco.

The 5K is part of All-Star Weekend celebrations in New York City. Festivities conclude Tuesday with the game itself, happening at Citi Field in Queens.
