NEW YORK - Flags are flying at half-staff throughout the borough today in honor of the victims of the deadly shooting at a political gathering in Tuscon, Ariz.

Six people were killed and 14 people wounded during the rampage, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (R-Ariz.).

President Obama and the first lady also led a national moment of silence at the White House this morning. The president urged Americans to take the time to reflect and unite together.

Pima County police say they have arrested 22-year-old Jared Loughner in connection with the case. They say he is facing several charges including attempted assassination.
