BROOKLYN - Parts of Brooklyn experienced flooding on Wednesday after a morning storm pounded the borough.

Hours after the heavy downpour, localized flooding at crosswalks made it difficult for local residents and shoppers to travel. There was also significant flooding outside P.S. 188 in Coney Island, a part of the borough that has seen its share of floodwaters.

Fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire at an auto body shop in Coney Island believed to be caused by the rain. FDNY officials said the fire appears to be caused by an electrical disturbance.

The fire left several businesses near Cropsey Avenue without power.
