34-year-old motorcyclist killed in Canarsie crash

BROOKLYN - A motorcycle crash in Canarsie has claimed the life of a 34-year-old man from East Flatbush. 

Investigators say Ashmeade Rohan and a 20-year-old female passenger were hit by a car that was turning left onto Avenue J at Rockaway Parkway Wednesday night. 

Both motorcycle riders were wearing helmets, but Rohan suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. The woman was treated for minor injuries. 

No charges have been filed at this time against the 66-year-old man behind the wheel of the car. The investigation is ongoing.
