MTA bridge, tunnel fares rise

BROOKLYN - The next phase of the MTA's fare hikes took effect Sunday on the agency's bridges and tunnels.

Drivers will now pay 50 cents more each way to cross the MTA's major crossings, such as the R.F.K, Whitestone and Throgs Neck bridges and the Brooklyn-Battery and Queens-Midtown tunnels.

Fares on minor crossings such as the Henry Hudson Bridge rose 25 cents Sunday.

Fares for drivers who use an E-Z Pass went up slightly less.
