BROOKLYN - ? Hundreds of residents attended a public hearing on proposed subway layoffs.

Members of the local station workers union chanted 'fire the MTA' and more than 40 spoke about the layoffs.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority previously attempted to fire approximately 250 subway booth agents. A judge ordered an injunction against the layoffs, saying the MTA did not hold enough hearings on the issue.

The MTA says despite the proposed layoffs, one station agent will be present at every kiosk in the borough.

The MTA's next move will be to hold a vote on July 28.

MTA holds public hearing on layoffs tonight.
