BROOKLYN - The Department of Transportation says it’s examining the possibility of bringing a new subway extension to Brooklyn.

The state Department of Transportation is asking the federal government for millions of dollars so the MTA can possibly extend the subway line from Crown Heights to Marine Park. 

The DOT says the extension would be to the 2 and 5 trains from Eastern Parkway to Avenue U along Utica Avenue.

The MTA says it’s doing the study on behalf of the city and it’s very possible that subway service could make it out to Marine Park.
