MTA mulls raising funds through corporate sponsors

BROOKLYN - The MTA is considering new ways to raise funds by using corporate sponsors.

The MTA recently drafted a set of rules outlining how to handle corporate sponsorships. Yesterday, an MTA committee approved the naming rights policy, and the full board is expected to approve it tomorrow morning.

Officials with the MTA say there are no imminent naming deals.

Currently, nearly all New York stations carry the name of streets intersecting lines.
