MTA offering free subway rides on Sandy anniversary

The free rides will be offered on the R line between Bay Ridge Avenue and Court Street.  They will also be available on parts of the A line.

BROOKLYN - The MTA is marking the anniversary of Superstorm Sandy by giving away free subway rides to passengers in some of the areas affected by the storm.

The free rides will be offered on the R line between Bay Ridge Avenue and Court Street. They will also be available on parts of the A line.

During the storm, MTA officials say that 468 stations were shut down due to Sandy damage.
