BROOKLYN - The MTA was quick to correct a subway spelling mishap in Downtown Brooklyn.

Schermerhorn Street has proven to be a difficult name to spell, even for city officials who misspelled one sign at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets Station.

DNA info caught the mistake Wednesday, and snapped a picture of the sign while it was missing the second "R" in Schermerhorn.

The sign creator isn't alone in having difficulty. Many commuters who were stopped by News 12 also had trouble with the correct lettering.
