BROOKLYN - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has unveiled a new app that will help subway riders.
The new app, called Subway Time, allows commuters to know in real time when subway trains are arriving. For now, the service is limited to the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 lines and the 42nd Street shuttle. It only features those trains that already use time monitors.
Subway riders can download the app from iTunes or the MTA's website. It's currently only available for iPhones and iPads, but apps for Android and Windows phones are coming soon.
