BROOKLYN - A military memorial was unveiled today at William McKinley I.S. 259 in Bay Ridge.

About 65 students spent the school year painting the mural, which covers a wing of the school. More than 6,000 names are written in gold on the walls to remember and honor service members who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Next year, the mural’s creators plan to honor the victims of Superstorm Sandy with another mural.
