BROOKLYN - A popular music store in Bed-Stuy will be closing its doors for good after nearly 65 years in operation.

According to Birdel's Record Shop owner Joe Long, he hasn't made a profit at the Nostrand Avenue store in three years. He says the changing music landscape, with digital downloads and bootlegged tracks, has made it difficult to sell vinyl records.

Long says he hopes to get the stretch of road between Atlantic Avenue and Fulton Street renamed Birdel's Way.
