Muslim fashion designer makes debut at NY's Fashion Week

CLINTON HILL - A Clinton Hill designer made her big debut at New York's Fashion Week over the weekend.

Showcasing her unique style, 27-year-old Nailah Lymus debuted Amirah Creations' spring line on the big stage.

The self-taught designer says her fashion line reflects the Islamic religion while also staying edgy enough for non-Muslims.  Lymus says her religion doesn't discount her love for fashion.

While working on trends for the stage, the designer says she also keeps her clientele in mind, making sure the pieces are not only fashionable but wearable.
