BROOKLYN - Police are looking for a group of people allegedly responsible for flying white flags from the top of the Brooklyn Bridge Tuesday morning.

Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence John Miller says at around 5:30 a.m., construction workers noticed the American flags usually atop the bridge were replaced with white flags. Police took the flags down, which appeared to be bleached American flags.

Security video shows a group of four or five people crossing the bridge before using aluminum pans to cover the bridge's tower lights. Police say there is no particular connection to terrorism or politics.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest of those responsible for the flag-switching.
