National Grid makes decimal mistake

EAST FLATBUSH - An East Flatbush woman is still waiting for her refund after National Grid took $3,880 out of her account instead of $38.80.

It was a decimal point error that not only emptied Veneta Peterkin?s bank account, but also left it over-withdrawn. Peterkin says she can?t pay her other bills until the money is refunded.

National Grid says it has credited Peterkin?s account and that it can take up to 10 days for the money to post. However, Peterkin says she spoke with her bank and this is not the case.
