Nearly a dozen Coney Island vendors ordered to close

BROOKLYN - Nearly a dozen Coney Island boardwalk vendors received two-week notices ordering them to shut down today.

Zamperla, which recently took ownership of the boardwalk, issued the letters after asking food vendors to submit proposals detailing the changes they would make to modernize their restaurants.

Many vendors, including Cha Cha's, Ruby's and The Grill House, had their proposals rejected and now have two weeks to close up.

A spokesperson for Zamperla says the company looks forward to creating a new experience on the boardwalk while continuing to honor Coney Island's past.
