Neighbors mourn child killed in fall

BROOKLYN - The death Monday of a 1-year-old boy on Albany Avenue has shocked and saddened neighborhood residents.

Marcus Olivier was killed when he fell out the window of his family's second-floor apartment. Family members say the child's mother gave him a bath and then went to get clothes. They say Marcus broke through the window's blinds and fell to the street.

The Administration for Children's Services, which has asked neighbors about the accident, says any child's death potentially related to neglect or abuse would trigger an investigation.

In an apparently unrelated incident, another little boy fell out a two-story window on Westminster Avenue Tuesday. Neighbors say emergency responders rushed the boy to the hospital in critical condition.
