BROOKLYN - The Coney Island Boardwalk Community Garden could soon be uprooted to pave the way for a new amphitheater.

Community Board 13 voted against the proposal during a meeting Monday night. Attendees said that the project is being rushed and needs more input from residents before it can move forward.

The plan is to restore a historic building on the west end of the boardwalk, and possibly create parking where the garden currently grows.

News 12 reached out to Borough President Marty Markowitz, who is one of the organizers of the project, but has not yet heard back.
