BROOKLYN - Residents are against new basketball courts in Ditmas Park because they believe the courts will bring noise and violence to the area.

Newly renovated courts at P.S. 139 should be completed by fall. However, residents say the courts will attract troublemakers who continue to play after the hours of operation.

The Department of Education says it will put up signs displaying the rules and is committed to making sure the playground is safe at all times.
