New Brooklyn Bridge patrols aim to make crossing safer

BROOKLYN - It may now be a bit safer for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the Brooklyn Bridge.Two traffic workers are now stationed at each end of the bridge. They're supposed to make sure that pedestrians stay out of the narrow bike lane. The safety officials will work on the bridge from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on weekdays, and from noon-5 p.m. on Saturdays.
