New Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson sworn in
BROOKLYN - Brooklyn's new District Attorney Ken Thompson was officially sworn into office Sunday at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Thompson, Brooklyn's first black district attorney, unseated Charles Hynes, who held the office for 24 years. The former federal prosecutor says he vows to fight for justice and keep all Brooklyn residents safe.
Thompson is planning to establish what he calls a crime strategies unit to work with the NYPD to fight crime.
