New discount card offers big savings on prescriptions

BROOKLYN - ? A new prescription discount card could soon save residents money on their next pharmacy bill.

The card is free of charge and offers 30 to 75 percent off the price of brand name and generic drugs. The New York City Human Resources Administration and the New York State Diabetes Campaign introduced a new card in an effort to help those who are uninsured or underinsured.

The program is available to all residents regardless of age, race, income or health condition. It is accepted at most pharmacies in the state.
