SUNSET PARK - A new map is giving Brooklyn residents the opportunity to view where toxic spills have been reported.

Researchers say the map is made up of complaints made by New Yorkers to the state. They say that can mean it may not always be 100 percent accurate. Toxins included on the map include paints, dry-cleaning chemicals and raw sewage.

Juan Osorio, of the nonprofit group New York City Environmental Justice Alliance, says it is important for people to know exactly what the public health implications are.

Researchers say residents should research their neighborhoods and know if there are toxins in the area.
