New pedestrian countdown clocks come to BK

(09/29/10) BROOKLYN - New pedestrian countdown clocks are set to be installed in Brooklyn.

The clocks are to be installed along Fourth Avenue from Pacific Street to 65th Street and along Third Avenue from Prospect Avenue to 63rd Street.

The clocks display numbers that count down the number of seconds remaining before the flashing hand will be displayed. The Department of Transportation says this can help those crossing decide whether there is enough time to cross the street safely.
