BROOKLYN - The city plans to dramatically reduce car lanes in and around Brooklyn Bridge Park to make sure they are safer for pedestrians and bikers.

The Department of Transportation plans to add pedestrian plazas, revise bus routes and increase bicycle-friendly areas by the park?s two entrances at Atlantic Avenue/Pier 6 and Old Fulton Street/Pier 1 in Brooklyn Heights.

The DOT plans to present its proposed changes tonight at a community board meeting. The meeting will be held at Long Island College Hospital at 6:30 p.m.
