BROOKLYN - New Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott reached out to parents in Brooklyn this morning during a visit to a local church.

At the Church of the Open Door, Walcott addressed the importance of building a relationship between parents and the Department of Education.

Walcott was named schools chancellor the same day Cathie Black resigned from the position. She spent only 96 days on the job.
